Audits

In accordance with professional standards, our audits focus on examination of financial statements. However, independent examination based on our experience delivers added value to our clients. Moreover, we plan and coordinate every audit to minimize inconvenience and cost.

Our audit approach requires a complete understanding of clients’ operations. Understanding includes:

  • External factors, such as economic and business trends
  • Internal factors, such as service programs, capital requirements, management,
    and information processing

This audit approach targets essential operations, especially those subjective or complex areas most effecting financial statements. During planning and interim phases of our engagement, we evaluate accounting systems and controls to design an efficient audit. Effective planning also identifies potential problem areas for early resolution and ensures completion of the audit without delay.

We use a "single team" approach for both audit and tax services. This approach prevents demands on client staff to educate separate audit and tax consultants. It also assures that personnel working on the engagement will have mastered all the accounting and tax rules affecting a client.

Our audit approach minimizes the disruption and inconvenience of an annual audit. Most clients are not adequately staffed to readily absorb the added work of year-end audits. To reduce their workloads, we assign personnel with appropriate experience to maintain continuity of the engagement team. We also insist that our team regularly communicate with the client to resolve issues when they arise -- rather than during the year-end audit. Thus our team, being well along the learning curve, will save time and prevent or quickly solve problems. In brief, working both with and for client results in a positive relationship. Our total involvement in understanding clients’ operations assures our effective service as auditors and advisors.

Reviews and Compilations
For those clients not requiring audited financial statements, we offer review and compilation services. A review consists of performing inquiry and analytical procedures to provide reasonable assurance that there are no material modifications that should be made to the financial statements in order for them to be in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles or with another basis of accounting.

A compilation consists of presenting, in the form of financial statements, information that is the representation of management without undertaking to express any assurance on the statements.

These services are especially applicable where financial statements are needed in proper form or with limited assurance, but where the cost of an audit is not justified.
